July 22

We've now had 2 interesting Uber experiences in 2 days.   Yesterday I requested an Uber at the Olympia station and selected the hotel we wanted to go to.  The driver deleted the GPS directions because he knew where we were going.   After 10 minutes I asked how much further because I thought it was quite close to the station.   Turns out he assumed we were going to another Best Western instead of the one we originally requested - well duh!

This morning Norm decided he'd go get the rental and come back to the hotel to pick me up.   He called Enterprise for a ride and they said they were sending a car to pick him up.  When the Uber car drove up,  Norm said his name and Enterprise then got in and off they went.  After about 20 minutes Norm said he thought the Enterprise office was closer and found that the driver was under the impression he was going to Sea Tac.  Turns out Enterprise had sent 2 Uber drivers to our hotel and Norm got in the one going to Sea Tac rather than the Enterprise rental office and the driver didn't check.   Took an hour to get to the rental place so we didn't actually get going until about 11:30.  Whew!

BUT we had a lovely drive up the 101 to Port Angeles.

Stopped at the side of the road to taste some blackberries - yum

Hwy 101 north to Port Angeles (taken through the windshield)

Pleasant Harbor WA - picture postcard stuff

Couldn't resist a picture with all this color coordination going on!

Coho Ferry leaving Port Angeles for Victoria - we'll be on it tomorrow!
